Pro-government supporters clash

BUENOS AIRES – Supporters of Argentinian leader Cristina Kirchner clashed with each other at a pro-government rally in Buenos Aires, Sunday. The mass brawl reportedly broke out when supporters attempted to situate themselves closer to the stairs of the country’s National Congress. No serious injuries were reported, although police used tear gas in a bid to disperse the crowd.

Tens of thousands of Kirchner supporters gathered outside the National Congress building as she gave her final speech to the nation’s Congress. The crowd expressed solidarity with Kirchner after judges dismissed allegations she ‘covered up’ the infamous 1994 attack on a Jewish community centre in the country’s capital. The 62-year-old leader will step down on December 10, 2015.
