Kamilia Lahrichi worked for AP as a freelance video producer and journalist from 2015 to 2017 in South America.
She also produced multimedia stories for CNN International, The Guardian, AJ+, Wall Street Journal, The Huffington Post, USA Today, Fusion, VICE News, Global Post, U.S. News & World Report, IRIN News, South China Morning Post (Hong Kong), International Finance Magazine (U.K.), L’Orient-Le Jour, The Daily Star (Lebanon) and Palestine-Israel Journal (Jerusalem), among others.

The International Journalists’ Network profiled her as ‘journalist of the month’ in May 2016.
Kamilia Lahrichi is the recipient of a reporting fellowship in Mexico and Colombia from International Women’s Media Foundation in 2016. She also received three United Nations Foundation Press fellowships in New York City in 2014 and 2015. She was also a 2015 National Press Foundation fellow in Abu Dhabi.
In addition, she is an Emerging Leader fellow at the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations in Qatar, Jordan and Morocco.
In March 2015, Morocco’s government rewarded Kamilia Lahrichi with a merit trophy for her work as a foreign correspondent and for representing a new generation of young female leaders in the country.
Kamilia Lahrichi won the World Health Organization/International Center for Journalists fellowship on global health issues to travel to Brasilia in November 2015.
She was also selected – among 600 applicants – by the European Youth Press to cover the Deutsche Welle Global Media Forum on international affairs in Bonn, Germany in June 2015.
Kamilia Lahrichi spoke live in Arabic on violence in Argentine soccer from Buenos Aires for the U.A.E. TV channel Sharjah Sport.
Prior to that, Kamilia Lahrichi was an editor in charge of a monthly magazine at Thomson Reuters in Hong Kong. She appeared on Radio Television Hong Kong to analyze Middle Eastern affairs (interview at 10 min 38)
In 2011, one week after Mohamed Bouazizi set himself on fire – a catalyst for the Arab Spring – Kamilia Lahrichi started working as the news editor of the Middle East and North Africa and International desks at The Daily Star newspaper in Beirut, Lebanon. She also covered Egypt’s revolution from Cairo’s Tahrir Square.
Kamilia Lahrichi graduated from New York University with a M.A. in International Relations and from l’Ecole Supérieure de Journalisme of Paris with a Master in Journalism.
She lived in Hong Kong, New York, Washington DC, Casablanca, Jerusalem, Amman, Beirut and Montreal.
